Shelby Nicole Cannon Was abducted and went missing for ten years. Her father, actor and co-author of the Synclair-Cannon Child Abduction Prevention Act, searched for years to locate his daughter. Once Josef located his daughter, like others, he felt all would soon be over and his daughter returned. In a turn to the worst, Ireland blocked his request to have her returned.

Ireland’s
argument was a loophole in the international treaty on parental child
abduction, the Hague Convention. This loophole
allowed an abducting parent to challenge based upon if the child had become
accustom to their home.
As strange as it
might be, Shelby’s mother was able to keep her daughter that she successfully convinced
was not named Shelby Cannon, but the name and birthday from a child she stole off
of a grave maker. Ireland, in fear of
having Shelby’s mother face felony charges for her criminal actions, has protected
her every since being uncovered as a wanted fugitive for Child Stealing.
Mr. Cannon has
not sat idly by waiting for his daughter to be returned. Since his daughter was abducted he has been a
tireless warrior for all parents searching for their stolen children. Joseph co-wrote the Synclair-Cannon Child
Abduction Prevention Act and has created and narrated educational films
covering child stealing and identity theft.
